Supplies for Success

Happy New Year! Wow, it’s 2023 already! How did that happen? To kick off a new month and a new year, there are new cookie flavors and a new charity.

Throughout January, I’ll be raising money for Supplies for Success, an endeavor I have been involved with since I was seven years old. My mom was one of the first three co-chairs of this amazing initiative that provides backpacks filled with all the necessary school supplies to thousands of needy children in Northern New Jersey. I have held bake sales and fundraisers in the past and always cherish actually packing the backpacks.

Most people don’t know that around 400,000 children in New Jersey live below the poverty line. Some parents have to decide between buying food and school supplies. Supplies for Success makes sure that these families don’t have to make such a tough choice and that these kids can start the school year on equal footing with their classmates.

I can’t believe how much Supplies for Success has grown in the past seven years. The first year raised enough money to buy 500 backpacks. Last year, they filled 3,000 backpacks! I’d love to be able to raise enough to purchase 50 backpacks (~$900). Will you help me reach my goal?
